How to Use Merge Workbooks?

»  Let's say you have your monthly budgets in seperate Workbooks and you want to combine those workbooks into one workbook. You can use Merge Workbooks to quickly and easily combine those workbooks into one workbook.

Note

»  Macros can't be undone. Backup your work before running any macro.

Step One

»  Open MergeWorkbooks.xls.
NOTE: When opening the workbook you may or may not have been prompted to disable/enable macros. You will need to enable macros for the macro work. If you clicked disable when opening this workbook, simply close this workbook and reopen it enabling macros.

Step Two

»  Click "+" and select the Workbooks you want to combine. (See Figure 1)

Step Three

»  Click "Start"

Result

»  Figure 2 shows the new workbook created with the worksheets from the workbooks selected in step 1.

The macro doesn't run, What is wrong?

»  If the macro doesn't even start it could be because the security settings in Excel are too restrictive. I suggest setting the macro security on medium. This will prompt you to choose between enabling and disabling macros in a workbook.
