NOTE: If you are unsure of the publisher or do not believe the workbook should contain active content then you should contact the workbook's author before enabling active content.


Creating a Trusted location (Excel 2007 Only).

» To avoid having to enable active content every time a workbook is opened you can add the workbooks path to be a trusted location to Excel. By creating a trusted location Excel will automatically enable active content for any workbooks that are saved in that location.

Step One:

»  Open Excel 2007 and click the Office Button and select Excel Options.

Step Two

»  In the Excel Options Dialog, Select the Trust Center from the menu on the left.

Step Three

»  Click on the "Trust Center Settings" Button.

Step Four

»  In the Trust Center Dialog, Select "Trusted Locations" from the menu on the left.

Step Five

»  Click on "Add new Location". In the Microsoft Office Trusted Location Dialog click "Browse" and navigate to the path where the workbook is saved. (i.e. "C:\Program Files\Merge Workbooks Professional\") and click ok.

Step Six

»  Click on ok to close the trust center dialog. Then click ok to close the Excel Options dialog.
