NOTE: If you are unsure of the publisher or do not believe the workbook should contain active content then you should contact the workbook's author before enabling active content.


Adjusting Macro Security Settings (Excel 2007 Only)

» By default Excel 2007 will disable any workbooks that have unsigned active content (i.e Workbooks containing macros) and display a security warning ribbon like the one shown in figure 1. If active content is disabled and you are not seeing the security ribbon then your macro security settings will need to be adjusted. To adjust your Macro Settings please follow the steps shown below:

» Click here if you are using Excel 2000-2003
» Click here if the security warning is displayed
» Click here to avoid having to enable content every time the workbook is opened.

Step One:

»  Open Excel 2007 and click the Office Button and select Excel Options.

Step Two

»  In the Excel Options Dialog, Select the Trust Center from the menu on the left.

Step Three

»  Click on the "Trust Center Settings" Button.

Step Four

»  In the Trust Center Dialog, Select the "Macro Settings" from the menu on the left.

Step Five

»  Select "Disable all macros with notification" and click ok.

Step Six

»  Close and reopen the excel workbook. The security ribbon should be displayed if the workbook contains active content.
